Mac & Liz Plecker began the Extreme Team Monster Ride Truck after running their street truck at mud races, swamp races, etc. During that time, we thought it would be great to share the excitement of riding in a truck with fans of all ages. In 1993 we began building a truck that was capable of giving the thrill and enjoyment of being able to take a monster truck ride.
In 1994 our work was completed and “Energizer” began touring the country. Performing at monster truck events, fans from all over the world would take the ride of a lifetime. Having literally taken thousands of people for rides in this full size monster truck, we expanded and began performing at car show events, racetracks and private parties. In 1995 we continued performances for thrill seekers of all ages, running under the name “Ultimate Warrior” to help promote World Wrestling Federation™. In 1996 we returned to the name of “Energizer” and expanded further, including fundraisers, parades, business and dealership displays and advertising events.
Two of the biggest moments for the team came in 2004, as HPI Racing signed on for a full sponsorship of the Extreme Team ride truck. The name was changed to the HPI Savage ride truck and it was painted to match one of HPI’s “Savage” radio controlled monster trucks. During the summer of the ’04, Mac finally decided after ten years that he was ready to go racing in addition to running the ride truck. Thus work began on a brand new custom chassis race truck that would be called Ballistic.
Over the next few years, the ride truck would continue growing in popularity, doing great work in promoting HPI’s line of R/C trucks while Mac grew into a strong racer driving Ballistic around the country. In late 2008, Extreme Team 4×4 partnered with Paul Shafer Motorsports to began campaigning a Bearfoot Ford race truck for the 2009 season. Mac is extremely excited to be climbing behind the wheel of such a legendary name, and we are ready to take it to the competition in 2009!
