Extreme Team Finishes February In Dominating Fashion

Published on March 1, 2011

The Extreme Team continues their 2011 dominance with impressive showings the past 3 weeks. Beginning in Tupelo, Mississippi, the team would closely battle newcomer Derrick Anson in the Heavy Hitter truck. In the end, Mac came out on top, including a full sweep of the freestyle competition all weekend and wheelie contest wins on both Friday and Saturday night!

From Mississippi, It was on to Tulsa, Oklahoma for Darryl Starbird’s Monster Truck Races. The Extreme Team are no strangers to the famous Tulsa show, but upon arrival they learned of a new, technical course they were to compete on over the course of the weekend. In addition, freestyle would make its first appearance at the venue and Mac and Ballistic were up to the challenge! When the weekend was complete, Mac had won 8 races and finished runner up in freestyle. Overall, the team earned a respectable 2nd place finish overall right on the heels of Bigfoot 14 and Larry Swim.

The trek down I-40 continued as Tulsa was in the rearview mirror and the team was bound for Danny Torgeson’s Monster X Tour show in Asheville, NC. Las year, Mac was very competitive in the confines of the WNC Ag. Center against names like Bigfoot and Crushstation. This year was more of the same as Mac swept wheelie, racing, and freestyle on Saturday afternoon and claimed wins in the wheelie competition and freestyle competition during the weekend finale on Saturday night!

The team is now back in Georgia taking a much needed break from the road. After the first stretch of 2011, Mac and Ballistic have won a total of 15 of 25 freestyle competitions they’ve competed in and have accumulated numerous runner up finishes in wheelie and racing portions of shows! A huge thanks goes out to our crewman Tommy Garst, Tom Bogus of TBO Entertainment, Darryl Starbird and family, Danny Torgeson of Monster X Tour, and the teams we’ve competed with thus far in first quarter.
